With 31 years of experience in the energy sector, Dave Walton provides homeowners with tips and advice to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Dave’s educating style helps homeowners decipher the often conflicting messages they receive about home improvements and “green” solutions.
Dave helps homeowners decide which projects to tackle by explaining, in layman terms, the costs and benefits of each energy reduction undertaking. As a result of his easy to understand explanations, Dave has gained a reputation, with media and homeowners, for providing sound advice while offering the greatest savings options for homeowners.
For the past nine years, Dave has served as Direct Energy’s Canadian spokesperson for energy efficiency ideas for the home. Dave interviews for newspapers, magazines and on-line sites. He appears on television morning shows and radio shows in Ontario, Alberta and has done interviews and Home Shows the US Northeast.
And this past Fall, Dave hosted a blogger event at a customer’s home, where he did a walk-through of the home, providing energy efficiency tips and advice to numerous bloggers that were invited to the event.
Starting as a Junior Draftsperson, Dave rose through the ranks of the organization and gained broader experience in engineering, home improvements and sales. Dave also has field experience and has worked with many window renovators, roofers, insulation installers, kitchen renovators and duct cleaners. As well, Dave tries to stay in touch with the HVAC business and can often be found chatting with any number of Direct Energy’s Service Technicians.
